Hellbent Tattoos & Body Piercing LLC was established in January of 2004. I had decided that I was ready to get my first tattoo, so my husband and I went to every shop in the metroplex to check them out. After all, a tattoo is a lifelong commitment, and I wanted to get it right! But every shop we went into was either so dirty, rude people, or so out dated, that I would never get tattooed there. The next option I considered was to let my husband, who had tattooed in the past, tattoo me at home.  But after all the research I had done on getting my tattoo I knew that was not a smart decision. This brings me to option 3.  Open my own shop and change the tattoo shop standards, and here we are today.

We opened this shop with the thought that the tattoo industry had changed so much. The first tattoo shops catered to bikers, sailors and roughnecks.  A 2006 a study done by the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology found that 24% of Americans between 18 and 50 are tattooed; that's almost one in four. And the survey showed that about 36% of Americans age 18 to 29 have at least one tattoo!  It’s now common for doctors, lawyers, and other people like me to get tattooed. But yet the tattoo shops did not change. They were still little, dirty and full of attitude.  So we got to work, did all the research, revisited all of those shops, and made a list of "not to do's", and a very short "list to do's". Then we started our tattooing and piercing courses (not required by state), got all of our certificates and licenses, found our building, and opened our doors to a tattoo shop that we hope will make a change in the standards for all tattoo shops.

It has taken a lot of work and determination getting Hellbent Tattoos to where it is today, but it has been worth it.  We have reached a lot of our goals, and I can honestly say that at 5,200 Sf. I am one of the largest tattoo shops in Texas.  I also have the largest selection of body jewelry in Texas. Our shop has never been wrote up by the health department (not to many shops can say that).  And I promise that you will not find a cleaner place to get your body modification from.  All of the artist at Hellbent Tattoos are required (by the shop, not the state) to get certification for "Certified Tattooing Specialist" through the American Tattoo Institute so you can rest assure they are knowledgeable in everything from Skin Anatomy, Physiology to Blood borne Pathogens.

Now one title that Hellbent Tattoos cannot claim is being the cheapest shop in town.  Our shop minimum on tattoos starts at $50.00 and goes up.  But we do offer you great quality work, in a clean, disease free, and friendly environment (which in my opinion is worth it) at a very fair price.
